As the Denver Broncos await the start of training camp, Von Miller was recognized for his exemplary work in public services Tuesday night.
Broncos Country knows all about the amount of work Von Miller puts into his craft on the field. What sometimes goes unnoticed is his determination to make a difference off the field.
Most of us are familiar with his charity Von’s Vision, which helps provide glasses to children that come from low-income families in the Denver area. What Von does in the community is provide sight to those children that need it to become successful.
His work with the organization has earned him quite the prestigious award. Von’s Vision was nationally recognized on Tuesday. For his efforts, Von Miller was awarded with the 2019 Jefferson Award.
This award goes to an athlete that displays Outstanding Public Service in Sports. Another former Bronco that has won this award in the past is Eric Decker, who was honored with the award back in 2016.
This is quite an honor for Von Miller. It also helps place Von’s Vision on the map just a little bit more. But what an amazing honor for the Super Bowl 50 most valuable player. And what a better way to receive the award then to have your mentor Demarcus Ware place the medal around your neck.
This is truly such an amazing off the field award for Von Miller. Broncos Country knows he has done amazing things with the organization, but to be recognized for this high honor is something that he should be proud of, which Von states how humble he is by receiving the award.
Keep working hard Von. You have done such great things on and off the field. There is no doubt that he will be successful no matter what is put in front of him.
