Jeff Holland

Age: 23
2019 salary cap hit: $570,000
Years under contract: 1

Jeff Holland profiles very similarly (athletically) to Shaquil Barrett and both players have taken quite similar paths to the Broncos’ regular-season active roster.

Holland was undrafted out of Auburn when he showed less-than-spectacular athleticism for his size despite some really good tape, earning 1st-team All-American and 1st-team All-SEC honors in his final year with the Tigers.

Holland had 9.5 sacks in his last year on campus, 12 tackles for loss, and 22 more pressures. He was a beast off the edge and even if it was in a small sample size, you have to wonder why a guy like this went undrafted.

Some had an early day three grade on him.

Holland, like Barrett, was called up to the active roster late in his rookie season and made the most of his opportunity. He made life difficult for Baker Mayfield in the Broncos’ prime time loss at home to the Browns last season, showing some nice pressure and playing much better against the run than expected.

He could be in line for a substantial role in year two.
