Devontae Booker

Age: 27

2019 salary cap hit: $815,848

Years under contract: 1

Let us start with the running back that has been under contract with the Broncos the longest. Devontae Booker is entering the final year of his rookie contract. His first carry as a Bronco was one to forget as he would fumble in the 2016 season opener.

For most of his rookie year, he would be remembered for his lack of ball security. However, he would lead the Denver Broncos in rushing in his rookie year and scored a few touchdowns along the way.

With the emergence of Royce Freeman and Phillip Lindsay, which we will talk about later, Booker has found himself on the sidelines most of the time. But where I can see him contributing the most is as a pass blocker and the occasional receiver.

As a pass catcher, he has made some exceptional plays. His rookie year saw him go 43 yards for a touchdown in the season finale against the Raiders. He would have a phenomenal hurdle in the Thursday night showdown against the Colts in 2017 that was sadly called back for holding.

With this being his contract year, he will need to step up if he wants to continue to have a role with Denver beyond 2019. It is completely possible.
