The Tight Ends (Jeff Heuerman, Jake Butt, Troy Fumagalli)

2018 injuries

Jeff Heuerman: Broken ribs, bruised lung
Jake Butt: Torn ACL
Troy Fumagalli: Sports hernia

The Broncos lost their top three tight ends last year to injury. They lost Fumagalli before training camp even got going, and they lost Jake Butt three games into the regular season.

Heuerman made it 12 weeks and 11 games last season.

The Broncos obviously took all of this into account when they used their top pick in the 2019 NFL Draft on Iowa Hawkeyes TE Noah Fant, who is expected to play a big role this season.

However, while the team may not be banking on huge contributions from guys who have struggled with injuries, they know that if all of these guys are healthy, they can all be significantly productive within the new offense.
