The Denver Broncos will be wearing decals on their helmets for the 2019 season honoring the team’s late owner Pat Bowlen.

Broncos Country, as well as the entire NFL community, was shaken up after Denver Broncos owner Pat Bowlen passed away. That news caused the team to do multiple things to honor the team’s owner, who passed away Thursday after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

The Broncos will wear decals on their helmets for the entire 2019 NFL season honoring Bowlen.

Normally, when a team decides to wear a decal, it dawns the initials of the person involved with the team. This time, like Klis said, it will read “Mr. B”.

That is what the players and staff of the organization use to reference the longtime owner.

Bowlen was well respected across the entire National Football League. He was a major part in the development of many things involving the league.

Bowlen had many accomplishments in his time as the owner of the Denver Broncos. He was the first owner in the NFL to accumulate 300 wins in thirty years and also enjoyed 21  winning seasons and 18 postseason appearances.

Oh, and not to forget the fact that his team won three Super Bowls while appearing in the big game seven times during his time with the Broncos.

The Broncos will honor Bowlen during their first home game of the 2019 NFL season on September 15th against the Bears with a tribute. The team will be honoring Bowlen and former Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey on October 13th against the Tennessee Titans.

Both Bowlen and Bailey were chosen for the 2019 Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Bowlen’s enshrinement into the Pro Football Hall of Fame came at a very inopportune time as the owner had been dealing with Alzheimer’s disease. It would have been nice if he was inducted sooner and could have enjoyed the festivities.

I love that the NFL allows teams to wear decals for somebody who meant so much to the organization. I wish that they would wear it longer than one season.

One thing is for sure though: Pat Bowlen will never be forgotten.
