The Broncos took a flier on Bug Howard after he tried out at the team’s rookie minicamp, and he’s definitely an intriguing player to keep an eye on.

The former wide receiver at North Carolina has bounced around the NFL a bit, and also played in the AAF with the Atlanta Legends before the league ultimately went under.

Howard has big, strong hands and at 6-foot-4, 230 pounds, ran a 4.58 in the 40-yard dash.

He’s not a traditional tight end by any means, but his abilities as a receiver make him worth looking into this offseason. I like that the Broncos are turning over every stone this offseason and bringing in players like Howard, who perhaps just needed some clarity on what position he would play at this level.
