Troy Fumagalli

Age: 24
2019 salary cap hit: $565,450
Years under contract: 3

Like Jeff Heuerman and Jake Butt before him, Troy Fumagalli’s rookie season in the NFL was spoiled due to injury.

Fumagalli was a fifth-round pick of the Broncos in their star-studded 2018 NFL Draft class, but he didn’t play a down in 2018 despite the desperate need the Broncos had at the position.

With the team planning on bringing Su’a Cravens back from IR, the Broncos made the decision to IR Fumagalli before final roster cuts, making him ineligible for a mid-season return.

I’m not so sure he would have been healthy enough anyway.

Fumagalli is not the same type of athletic mismatch as Noah Fant (obviously) or even Jake Butt, probably even Jeff Heuerman. But he is a very good receiver who high points the ball and has strong, reliable hands.

Fumagalli is also a very solid blocker.
