It is with heavy hearts this morning that we report that Denver Broncos longtime owner Pat Bowlen passed away late Thursday night.

We at Predominantly Orange have some heartbreaking news to pass to Denver Broncos fans this morning. Late Thursday night, Denver Broncos longtime owner Pat Bowlen passed away. He was 75 years old.

As we all know, Pat Bowlen had Alzheimer’s, which made day-to-day tasks very difficult. It was so difficult, that Bowlen made the difficult decision to step away from the game he loved shortly before the Broncos began the 2014 season.

While Pat Bowlen was away from the game, the Denver Broncos managed to win one Super Bowl, where John Elway dedicated the championship win to Mr. Bowlen.

Since taking over for the team in 1984, Pat Bowlen has brought so much. Not only to this organization, but for the NFL as well. During his time with the Broncos, the team posted as many Super Bowl appearances as losing seasons with seven of them. Denver posted back-to-back Super Bowl titles in the late 1990s.

Pat Bowlen also reached a huge milestone during his ownership with the Denver Broncos. Over the first 30 years, the Broncos won 300 games. That is quite a phenomenal feat. He was also responsible for the numerous areas of the game, including television.

I wish that it was all just a dream, but Broncos Country knows that he is now living where the skies are painted orange and blue every single evening.

Pat Bowlen, thank you for everything that you have done for the Denver Broncos organization. You will be missed dearly.
