The Denver Broncos added money to Chris Harris’ 2019 contract, but which players on the roster are deserving of extensions or new deals?

The Denver Broncos have a number of really important players coming up on the end of their current contracts.

How many will the team re-sign? Maybe a better question is how many can the team re-sign?

The Broncos are currently projected to have $37.4 million in cap space. We know they are capable of getting guys on lower year one cap hits and we’ve seen that repeatedly throughout the years with the way deals have been structured.

With $37.4 million in current cap space and so many players coming up on expiring contracts, it’s safe to say the roster we have this year will not look the same in 2020.

The top cap casualties next offseason could include Joe Flacco ($20.25 million cap hit), Ron Leary ($9.375 million cap hit), Todd Davis ($6 million cap hit), Jeff Heuerman ($4.5 million cap hit), and Brandon McManus ($4.25 million cap hit).

The Broncos could add $40.75 million to their cap space total if they release those players.

We won’t get too far ahead of ourselves, though. This article is not about possible cap casualties in 2020, but players who are in line for (and deserving of) extensions.

Let’s take a look at the top names on the list.
