The Denver Broncos will put their trust in two young safeties in 2019. One of them, Justin Simmons, continues to catch my eye.

Anyone can go up and down the Denver Broncos roster to determine who is line for a rebound, resurgence or bounce back 2019. One such player is safety is Justin Simmons. Simmons is one of the most gifted athletes on roster and possibly the entire National Football League.

We know that Simmons has faced adversity last season, but talent does not go away in one year. Ever since he has entered the league, Simmons has really impressed me with his mentality and toughness to whither a storm.

People will see missed tackles or missed assignments on tape, but he was not alone. Those same people also forget that just one season ago, Simmons was one of the smartest players in their secondary and better tacklers.

Denver was a winning franchise and that is contagious for every player involved. Yes the movie line, “losing is a disease” is funny, but it is also truthful. When a team racks up losses it can affect play on the field.

This is why people need to understand this part about Simmons. When TJ Ward was released as a member of the Denver Broncos, it was because of the play of Simmons and Will Parks. This was due to the wizard defensive coordinator Wade Phillips getting the most out of every player on the defense. Denver now has one of the league’s best defensive minds in Vic Fangio. Much like Phillips, Fangio puts his players in the best possible situation to succeed.

Also Simmons is a natural when the ball is in the air. A true speedy ball hawk that has the makings to be a tall Earl Thomas. Anyone in Broncos Country can tell you the story of Simmons intercepting EJ Manuel and out jumping Amari Cooper like he was a wide receiver.

Next. Most disappointing seasons in Denver Broncos history. dark

Simmons playing basketball in high school may have helped with that. It is these moments that stick with you and moments that have yourself forever believing in a guy like Simmons.

Simmons will be the first person to tell you he needs to play better. With Fangio at the helm, this gives Simmons the opportunity to be the true safety he is born to be. It allows him to read the quarterbacks eyes present exactly those ball skills we mentioned above.

What Fangio did with Eddie Jackson is the exact reason for Justin Simmons to smile. Jackson became a nightmare ball hawking safety that read the quarterback arguably better than anyone last season for the Bears. Now his defensive coordinator is with Denver where he has a freakishly gifted safety in Simmons who has height.

It seems out of place to make a judgment call off one season where everything on defense was off. Mark my words, Justin Simmons will have a strong 2019 season and it will result in a Pro Bowl appearance this year.
