1996 Denver Broncos Season

Now, I only know stories of this season. This season happened before I got into football, so bare with me. Denver went into December with a 12-1 record. They would finish 13-3. According to the stories that I have heard, this team had the best chance of getting to the Super Bowl.

Shoot, they were favored by most to win their first Lombardi in franchise history. However, a young Jacksonville Jaguars team made sure that did not happen.

In what would be the biggest surprise to the Denver Broncos at the time, the team would be outplayed and ended up losing to the Jaguars 30-27. It was the way they let their fast start evaporate that puts this season on this list.

The third quarter for the Broncos was one to forget, and possibly was the difference in the loss. It truly was a heartbreaker, having such a dominate season end in the first playoff game. Sadly however, this same scenario would happen just under two decades later.
