After visiting the Indianapolis Colts, the Denver Broncos return home to face off against Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns.

Last season, it was the Cleveland Browns of all teams, that eliminated the Denver Broncos from their first postseason appearance since winning Super Bowl 50. But I will give credit where it is due. The team that most fan bases have made fun of over the years actually looked solid.

Just think about how they will do with some more supporting cast members. I do not know about the rest of you, but this will be a great challenge before the Denver Broncos go on their bye.

As mentioned before, the Broncos were bested by the Browns in 2018 by the score of 17-16. Denver’s dominance of the Browns ended on that day, having won eleven games in a row before last year.

Hopefully, a new streak can begin in 2019. But it will not be easy this time around. The Cleveland Browns were busy during the offseason. Their biggest acquisitions in free agency came via a trade with the New York Giants that saw Odell Beckham Jr. switch to the orange and brown. The team also acquired Sheldon Richardson in free agency after he spent last year with the Vikings.

The team’s biggest draft pick this offseason was their second round draft pick Greedy Williams. Early in the offseason, Williams was one player that was consistently mocked to the Denver Broncos. Now either Courtland Sutton, Emmanuel Sanders, and DaeSean Hamiliton will line up against him.

Last season, the Cleveland Browns came so close to ending their playoff drought. But unfortunately a 7-8-1 record was not enough to secure a playoff birth. They did surprise some football fans last year by stringing together some wins. They defeated the two teams from Super Bowl 50, the Atlanta Falcons, and tied with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

This could be one of the dark horse teams in the AFC. If Denver is going to make some moves in 2019, a win over the Browns would be a great first step.
