Tight End: Bug Howard

Based on the way he played at North Carolina with Mitch Trubisky and Marquise Williams before him, I’ve been surprised to see Howard bouncing around not only NFL rosters but through the AAF as well.

Howard was always a Funchess type of player in college, neither a true tight end nor a true wide receiver, but there are places for this kind of weapon in today’s NFL.

The Broncos have four tight ends who should make the final roster, and we’re going to call no injuries this year but Howard could be a great practice squad/fifth tight end candidate.

He has strong hands and good athleticism, and could be a nice option for the Broncos as a ‘move’ tight end, or someone who could play out of the backfield, in line, and split out.

He might be a preseason star.
