Quarterback: Brett Rypien

Admittedly, the quarterback pool is a shallow one to pick from when looking for a sleeper.

It would really shock people at this point if Kevin Hogan made the squad, so perhaps he’s the better pick here, but I’m going to use this platform to talk up Rypien some more as a sleeper pick.

I’m not sure Rypien can become Kirk Cousins, but that was the comparison I thought of when I watched him play before the 2019 NFL Draft.

He is experienced, and along with his experience, he’s developed a great understanding of how to respond to the speed of the game and make things slow down.

I think Rypien is going to show a poise well beyond his years and force the Broncos to keep three quarterbacks on the roster this year. I do not think he’s going to threaten Drew Lock or Joe Flacco anytime soon, but he’s a prospect worthy of development and I think we’re going to like what we see through training camp and preseason play.
