Safety: Trey Marshall

The Broncos have a bit of a logjam at the safety position, but they really liked Trey Marshall last year and I wonder if he can’t surprise some people this season.

Marshall, an undrafted free agent out of Florida State, was known coming out of college for his hard-hitting abilities.

He didn’t make a ton of interceptions or plays on the football in general, but when the ball was in the air, offensive players had to have their heads on a swivel.

Is it possible Marshall could beat out guys like Jamal Carter and Su’a Cravens for a roster spot? Dymonte Thomas?

It seems unlikely at this point but that’s why we’re calling all of these guys sleepers. If Marshall can prove himself to be a valuable hybrid linebacker/safety/special teams type of ace, the Broncos will have to make room for him.
