5. Drafting Noah Fant

Since Julius Thomas was tearing defenses apart in 2013-14, the Broncos have not had a dynamic weapon at the tight end position.

No offense to Owen Daniels, who made some huge plays in the 2015-16 playoffs.

Noah Fant gives the Broncos such a valuable weapon in the passing game, and as many have noted over the past month, he’s an underrated blocker as well.

Fant has to learn how to put all of his tools together as an NFL tight end, but he’s an impressive athlete with huge upside in this offense.

We mentioned the addition of offensive coordinator Rich Scangarello earlier, and Scangarello knows firsthand what kind of impact a tight end this athletic can make in the offense he wants to run. He watched George Kittle (another former Hawkeye) tear up the rest of the league in 2018 with the 49ers.

Fant is so explosive and such a dynamic weapon in the red zone. The Broncos are going to have fun incorporating him into their offense early on.
