In Week Two, the Denver Broncos welcome their first NFC opponent of the season. After a huge season, how does 2019 look for the Chicago Bears?

After starting the season in Oakland, the Denver Broncos come back home for their first home game of the 2019 season. For the second straight season, the Broncos start their home schedule against a NFC team. Enter the Chicago Bears.

Denver and Chicago only see each other every four years. In the last meeting, Brock Osweiler made his first start in a Denver Broncos uniform, by virtue of an injury to Peyton Manning. Osweiler had a solid performance that helped lead the Broncos to a 17-15 win at Solider Field in 2015.

Four years can be a long time in the NFL. And both of these teams had opposite 2018 seasons. While Denver struggled, the Bears benefited from a solid defense. That unit was led by current Broncos head coach Vic Fangio and had defensive players such as Khalil Mack and Akiem Hicks.

Chicago won the division last year at 12-4, but were defeated in the Wild Card round by the then Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles in one of the most heartbreaking ways possible. The Bears will be celebrating their 100th season in 2019.

The Bears did not have a huge offseason in terms of big moves. They were able to sign Cordarrelle Patterson and Ha-Ha Clinton-Dix. Other than that, there were not a big list of moves.

They were quiet during the draft, not having a selection until the third round due to trades. Their first round pick went to the Raiders in the Khalil Mack trade.

This game will be very interesting with Vic Fangio on the Denver Broncos sideline. The Bears won the majority of their games due to defense. Can Denver rattle Mitchell Trubisky and get a big win against a team that made the playoffs last season?

I am looking forward to this early season matchup. There will be plenty of storylines by the time September 15th comes around.
