Cleveland Browns: Tyrod Taylor to Baker Mayfield
The Plan: Barely lose, blame the QB
The Cleveland Browns didn’t play all that poorly with Tyrod Taylor as their quarterback, he just wasn’t quite good enough to vault them into the winner’s circle.
Remember their week one thriller last year against the Steelers that ended in a tie? Remember the missed field goal in New Orleans causing them to lose?
Taylor was taken out on a Thursday Night Football game against the Jets with an injury, and Baker Mayfield led the team to their first victory in what felt like 100 years.
He Wally Pipped Taylor out of a job in Cleveland, and never looked back. Mayfield would go on to play well enough to win rookie of the year honors (in my opinion) and looked every bit the part of a top overall pick.
