Dalton Risner was the second prospect drafted by the Denver Broncos during Draft Weekend. The Kansas State lineman is preparing for big things in 2019.

When it comes to the offensive line, the Denver Broncos have struggled quite a bit. The team went out and drafted Dalton Risner to get some offensive line help. It certainly helps with the departure of Matt Paradis.

John Elway has always liked his offensive linemen that could play multiple positions on the line if possible. We have seen over the years tackles playing the guard position, guards moving to center. If the offensive lineman can play more than one spot, then it is a victory.

Dalton Risner appears to be preparing for more than his natural guard position. According to Vic Fangio, the coach is preparing him to play at tackle and a little bit at the center position. For a rookie, this might be a lot to take in.

But it appears that Dalton Risner is prepared for the challenge.

"“That is something that I preached to this process. I told the coaches that I was comfortable playing across the board. That is something that I need to be able to do, to be versatile. You can only suit seven offensive linemen on game days. So being able to play tackle, center and guard is something I am going to need to do and of course it is a bit more steadying but it is worth it.” -Dalton Risner (via Denver Broncos)"

I believe it will benefit Risner. Having the chance to play center, guard, and tackle is going to help him get on the field more often. In the case of any injuries that may formulate, he can just be plugged in.

However, I am certain that the goal is to have him start. But this gives Vic Fangio a chance to work the offensive line around in case there is a starter other than Risner that gets hurt in the game.

Kudos to Dalton for wanting to step up and make his presence known in Denver right off the bat. Hopefully all goes well for him and the rookies this weekend.
