Joe Flacco

When the Denver Broncos traded for quarterback Joe Flacco, the team’s 2018 starting quarterback, Case Keenum, was shopped and eventually traded to the Washington Redskins.

Now, with Flacco “in his prime”, the stage is his.

I don’t know how long Flacco really will play, but the team helped him out for the long run, when they made a smart decision to trade down for tight end Noah Fant.

Fant is a huge addition for the team and Flacco. The Broncos have been lacking that tight end that can stretch the field. Now they have that guy in Fant. Flacco is a big fan of making use of his tight ends and the former Iowa tight end may be the game changer at the position they have been lacking.

Another reasons Flacco should feel confident from this draft class are because of the selections of offensive lineman Dalton Risner, and wide receiver Juwann Winfree.

Risner has the ability to play multiple positions. He is going to play at right guard but, if there are injuries across the line, he is a candidate to move around. The Broncos desperately needed an upgrade on the offensive line and they may have solved one of those issues.

As for Winfree, you cannot have too many weapons.

You could also make a case for Flacco to be in the “lacking confidence” category with the selection of Drew Lock, but that would make more sense if Lock was taken with the team’s original pick (10th overall).
