Linebacker – 4 (43/53)

LB1: Todd Davis
LB2: Josey Jewell
LB3: Joe Jones
LB4: Justin Hollins (R)

Last year, the Broncos kept an obscene six off-ball linebackers on the active roster.

That should be a clear indicator of the talent level of the roster overall, but we didn’t want to see that at the time.

This year, the competition for roster spots is thankfully stiffer, and the inside linebacker position loses a couple of faces because of it.

I think the Broncos can use players like Su’a Cravens and Jamal Carter here, as well as Will Parks playing a dime linebacker role at times.

Justin Hollins is really an edge player who will float as a linebacker, but I included the fifth-round pick out of Oregon in this category because he can be a Jamie Collins type for Denver.

Joe Jones is a special teams captain and one of the fastest linebackers on the team. Let’s give that guy a shot at more snaps.

Dekoda Watson can probably play some off-ball linebacker as well. The Broncos didn’t draft anyone here who was a traditional off-ball guy in college, but there are some UDFAs like Josh Watson, Joe Dineen, and Malik Reed who could compete for spots.
