I’m not saying, I’m just saying — Trinity Benson’s athletic measurables are eerily similar to those of Emmanuel Sanders coming out of SMU back in 2010.
Any time you get your hands on an athlete with this kind of special ability, you have to invest. The Broncos did, giving Benson a solid $10,000 signing bonus.
Benson played running back a little bit in his senior season for the Tigers, but was signed by the Broncos to compete at wide receiver and kick returner, where he was also quite proficient.
This guy has see-ya speed with explosive leaping ability and elite short-area quickness. If he was a good enough playmaker in college to get the ball as often as he did, he’s clearly got some natural playmaking ability and could be a nice sleeper pickup for the Broncos.
The fact that they gave him a $10,000 signing bonus speaks volumes to their confidence in his ability to develop within their system.
