Defensive Back

If the Denver Broncos trade Chris Harris Jr., the cornerback position will be a focus on day two potentially, perhaps as early as their highest pick.

Greedy Williams, LSU

Williams is one of the best coverage cornerbacks in the draft, but mysteriously didn’t take any pre-draft visits and is not the best tackler, to put it nicely. Will that jive with Fangio?

Byron Murphy, Washington

Another excellent cornerback who ran a poor 40-yard dash, Murphy earned All-American honors during his first year as a full-time starter for the Huskies.

Amani Oruwariye, Penn State

Bigger, more physical outside cornerback who was an All-Big Ten selection the past two seasons. He picked off seven passes the past two seasons.

Other options: Rock Ya-Sin (Temple), Justin Layne (Michigan State), Kris Boyd (Texas), Isaiah Johnson (Houston)

Prediction

I think if the Broncos trade Chris Harris Jr., they could be vying for one of the top guys on this list. Unfortunately, all of these guys have flaws and all need development to be capable starters at the next level, but the most talented corners in this NFL Draft — in my opinion — are still on the board with only Deandre Baker going in the first round.

If the Broncos go with a safety, look for Iowa’s Amani Hooker.
