Denver Broncos: Top targets still on the board for day two
Offensive Line
The Broncos need a starting interior offensive lineman. Whether they go after a center or guard/tackle doesn’t matter — they need a starter here. And as we all saw on Thursday, the linemen were flying off the shelves, so there may need to be some urgency here.
Dalton Risner, OT/OG/C, Kansas State
Risner is on record as saying he wants to be a member of the Denver Broncos, and he can play three positions on the offensive line. He’s got a nasty disposition on the field, and was a three-time captain at Kansas State. He should be a top target.
Erik McCoy, C, Texas A&M
Three-year starter at center for the Aggies who was named a team captain in 2018 as a junior. This guy is a great fit for the zone scheme as both a guard and center, but he’s a center by trade.
Elgton Jenkins, C, Mississippi State
Nasty center prospect who is more powerful than quick, but he could probably fit any scheme at the next level. He may not be the best scheme fit for the Broncos, but he would put some people in the dirt.
Connor McGovern, G, Penn State
The Broncos need a player to come in and play right guard, and that’s exactly what McGovern is good at. Having two players with this name on the roster would also be hilarious.
Other notables: Dru Samia & Ben Powers (Oklahoma), Michael Deiter, Wisconsin
Prediction: Broncos take an OL at 41
It would slightly shock me — unless Risner and McCoy go off the board before the 41st overall pick, if the Broncos didn’t start the night with an OL and in particular, one of those two guys.
