Wide Receiver

This point of the Draft is going to be the true sweet spot for wide receivers. We saw Marquise Brown and N’Keal Harry go in the first round, but that’s it.

The Broncos have Courtland Sutton, DaeSean Hamilton, Emmanuel Sanders, and a number of intriguing guys behind them at the position, but this should be considered an area of need going into day two with Sanders coming off of injury and one year left on his contract.

Who are the top options here?

DK Metcalf, Ole Miss

Metcalf is an athletic freak. Imagine his size and speed along with Courtland Sutton’s size and explosiveness, Hamilton’s quickness, and Noah Fant roaming the middle of the field.

Whew.

AJ Brown, Ole Miss

Much more of a technician and route runner than Metcalf, his college teammate. Brown reminds some of Anquan Boldin with his toughness and ability to rack up yards after the catch.

Hakeem Butler, Iowa State

The 6-foot-6 mismatch is almost unguardable one-on-one. He has an insane catch radius and is a master of the insane catch.

Deebo Samuel, South Carolina

One of my favorite players in this draft, Samuel took a pre-draft visit to Denver and could fill multiple needs here. He’s got return experience, can play a big slot role or outside, and can line up in the backfield. One of the most physical players after the catch in this draft.

Others: Parris Campbell & Terry McLaurin (Ohio State), JJ Arcega-Whiteside (Stanford), Emanuel Hall (Missouri), Andy Isabella (UMass), Riley Ridley (Georgia)

Prediction: Take a WR at 52 or 71

The Broncos do need another receiver, but I’m not sure they’ll prioritize it at 41 where they really need an offensive lineman.

I think they will look to add one of these guys mentioned here if they can by the time that 71st overall pick rolls around. Any would be fun pickups for this offense.
