Quarterback

The fact that Drew Lock is still available baffles me.

Lock was a four-year starter in college. Coaches love him. He’s got a huge arm. He’s athletic. He showed improvement throughout his career. He’s got great intangibles and work ethic.

What’s the deal here?

The entire NFL passed on Lock and he may slide a little bit on day two as well.

He leads my best available there, as I would have been good with the Broncos taking him at 10.

Drew Lock, Missouri

Lock seems like the ideal QB to develop behind Joe Flacco, and if nothing else, he would be a great competitor for whatever QB the Broncos are targeting in 2020. QBs are currency in the NFL. I would love to see Lock taken in round two.

Will Grier, West Virginia

Some love Grier, some don’t. I am a fan. I love Grier’s anticipation, movement skills, and willingness to put the ball into tight coverage even if it doesn’t always work out for him.

He could be a great fit in this version of the Shanahan/Scangarello offense.

Ryan Finley, North Carolina State

Team captain and despite his lack of elite traits, should have a solid career in the NFL as an average to above average starter or at least a very good backup.

These are the only quarterbacks I would be thinking about taking on day two. It’s possible someone like Jarrett Stidham (Auburn) or Clayton Thorson (Northwestern) could shockingly enter the mix.

Prediction: No QB drafted on day 2
