The Broncos had pre-draft private workouts with two quarterbacks that we know of.

One was Duke’s Daniel Jones, who is likely going in the first round. The other was Northwestern’s Clayton Thorson.

If the Broncos have eyes on 2020 for the quarterback spot, Thorson would be the CJ Beathard for Scangarello.

Despite underwhelming stats in his time at Northwestern, Thorson was a four-year starter who showed first-round skills at times and won 36 college games.

There’s something to be said for that, as Northwestern is no powerhouse.

That kind of guy can, at the very least, be a valuable backup QB for you.
