I don’t care how the Broncos have to do it, I want to see them get Dalton Risner.

As one last pre-draft tidbit, I reached out to Risner and told him I hoped he landed with the Broncos. He replied back to me, “That’s the hope.”

There’s mutual interest here. The Broncos need someone to play the right guard position and Risner would be great at it. He has the attitude and toughness this team preaches on the offensive line and he’s the type of leader this team coveted in last year’s draft.

Risner is going to be a longtime starter in the NFL and he’s going to make a lot of friends along the way. I absolutely love this kid.

With that being said…

If, for whatever reason, Drew Lock falls into the 20s, I would be offering up picks to go back and get him, if I were Denver. I know John Elway has looked ahead to the 2020 class, but Lock has everything you look for in a franchise quarterback except consistency, which can hopefully be coached or developed as the game slows down for him.

I think if the Broncos come away from this draft with one of the Iowa tight ends and Drew Lock or Dalton Risner, I would be ecstatic.
