The Denver Broncos took maybe the most gifted weapons in the NFL Draft and interestingly he is a tight end.
For about as many years as you can count, the Denver Broncos have been needing a true playmaker at tight end. Noah Fant is a tremendous option in the passing game. He gives the team a dynamic weapon in the offense.
Tight end is a revolving door with this team and they made a huge move giving confidence to their new quarterback in Joe Flacco with this selection. One of the biggest reasons for this move is the uncertainty surrounding Jake Butt’s health and Jeff Heuerman’s consistency.
The selection does not bode well for second-year player Troy Fumagalli either. However, there is one thing that continues to remain true: The Denver Broncos’ love of Big Ten tight ends remains unbeaten.
Fant is a mismatch in the passing game that defensive backs and linebackers hate to defend. This is an area the Broncos had to address on offense. If there’s one area the team needed the biggest impact it was on the offense, not the defense. There have been plenty of games where Denver struggled to stretch the offense on every blade of grass.
We can pinpoint numerous games the team had to have production and did not happen.
This also allows offensive coordinator Rich Scangarello to keep the Iowa Hawkeyes connection strong. Scangarello had the pleasure of seeing George Kittle run wild all over teams asserting himself as one of the league’s best. Fant continues the trend and will flourish in that system.
Long story short, Fant is truly a human highlight reel. Enough of my quick reaction, let’s see what the experts think.
Broncos take Noah Fant to save Jon Gruden from himself - love to see it.

Omaha South graduate Noah Fant is drafted No. 20 by the Denver Broncos. He’s the first Nebraska native to be drafted in the first round since Kelly Stouffer in 1987.

Noah Fant could be a game changer for the @Broncos . He’s a Flex TE with size, speed and AA to create mismatches. Not a blocker but he upgrades their passing game

6-foot-4, 249 pounds
4.5 40
18 receiving TDs the last two seasons
1,013 receiving yards the last two seasons
A weapon for Joe Flacco.
The tight end position has been a black hole for the Broncos for years.

Noah Fant fills that hole and gives Joe Flacco a much-needed weapon in the middle of the field.
You're going to hear "Flacco to Fant" a whole bunch this year.
He's a big-time player.
The fun is just beginning for the Denver Broncos in the 2019 NFL Draft!
