Coverage Abilities

One reason the Denver Broncos would actually consider a linebacker with the 10th overall pick? Their struggles in coverage at the position.

The Broncos, like just about every team in the NFL, have guys who can play two downs but don’t have someone right now who can play two downs and run in space with running backs or even slot receivers.

Devin Bush is not a cornerback (though his father was a defensive back at Florida State) but he is capable of playing man coverage and chasing down running backs.

The one-on-one battles in the passing game between him and Phillip Lindsay would be a blast to watch.

Bush is very strong in coverage, though he’s better when his back is not facing the line of scrimmage. That’s something he would have to grow in with the Broncos. He’s much better processing things in front of him and attacking.
