Von Miller has now said who he wants the Denver Broncos to select with the number tenth pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. He has his eyes on Dwayne Haskins.

It is widely unknown what the Denver Broncos will do at the tenth pick this year for the NFL Draft. Some recent speculation by Benjamin Albright says “there’s a growing sense” Denver is looking to trade back. Those options should always be on the table. For Von Miller, he has spoken and now it is time to see if John Elway listens. Today, Miller made his intentions known quarterback Dwayne Haskins is his selection.

Haskins is widely regarded as one of the top quarterbacks in the 2019 Draft Class and if he is there, then it would be tough to pass up. Much like Drew Lock, if Denver truly views a quarterback this year that’s worth taking, then do it. It is that simple. Haskins is inconsistent, but when the big games mattered down the stretch he performed at the highest level. At the end of the day the comment does not matter, but for your franchise player to make that statement public it bears watching.

Recently, Haskins interviewed with the Denver Broncos on a top-30 visit. There Haskins wore a classic John Elway jersey. Haskins wearing that throwback Elway jersey is a phenomenal first impression for a team that brought you in. Typically you don’t see that. But to appeal to teams and show that Haskins wants to be there, it is nothing better than wearing Elway’s number to an interview.

Now for my two cents. Dwayne Haskins in Denver is not a terrible situation by any means. Haskins is just inconsistent. That said, for a first full season to put up the numbers he did is impressive.

50 touchdowns and eight interceptions is an incredible ratio despite playing down to an opponent and displaying the inconsistencies. His last handful of games against top competition is something scouts will look at. Plus, the bad.

Von Miller has spoken John Elway. Will you listen?
