Sixth round: Ben Burr-Kirven, LB, Washington

Ben Burr-Kirven is one of my favorite players to give the Broncos in round six.

His size (6-feet, 220 pounds) is the only major concern as Burr-Kirven moves well, is a decorated college player, and could help the Broncos both with their need for coverage linebackers and on special teams.

Burr-Kirven is the first scholar-athlete at Washington to win Pac-12’s Scholar of the Year for football and also the Pat Tillman Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year award.

His NFL.com scouting report has this incredible line to start:

“Plays the game with fatigue setting turned off.”

What a note.

The Broncos have shown love to the Pac 12 a lot in John Elway’s tenure, and just last year spent a sixth-round pick on Burr-Kirven’s former teammate Keishawn Bierria, who made the 53-man roster a year ago.

Now, those two could battle it out in Denver for one spot.
