Third round: Terry McLaurin, WR, Ohio State
Though he didn’t put up the same kind of numbers Parris Campbell did this past season at Ohio State, Terry McLaurin showed at the Senior Bowl his senior tape was worth digging into.
One of the best route runners in this class, McLaurin is a beast after the catch and has elite straight-line speed with a 4.35 in the 40-yard dash.
He showed impressive numbers elsewhere at the Combine, posting a 37.5-inch vertical jump and a 125-inch broad jump.
In addition to his potential at the next level as a receiver, McLaurin is an accomplished special teams player.
Though he wasn’t Haskins’ favorite target at Ohio State, I love the idea of pairing a young quarterback with a target they are familiar with. There are a ton of opportunities to do that in this year’s draft. Maybe we’ll explore that at a later time.
The Broncos need speed on the outside, and McLaurin provides it.
