Sign CB Jamar Summers from the AAF

The Broncos dipped into the AAF pool by signing a cornerback I had not yet scouted in San Antonio Commanders star De’Vante Bausby.

That signing looks like a really solid move for a player with a ton of confidence and big-time production in the AAF, but I’ve got another one of my top 5 (6) AAF players I hoped the Broncos would consider bringing in.

Jamar Summers, a cornerback from the Birmingham Iron.

Summers is hurt right now, information I learned from Benjamin Allbright, which is why he has yet to sign with an NFL team. He was dominating in coverage in the AAF when healthy.

For those who scout college football closely, you may remember Summers for his eight interception sophomore season a few years back. Unfortunately, he was unable to sustain that momentum and switched positions to safety before being demoted to second-team duties.

Every one of these guys ended up in the AAF for a reason.

In Vic Fangio/Ed Donatell’s defense, I think Summers would thrive. He’s got incredible ball skills and quickness if he can just put it together not only on a consistent basis, but against top-tier NFL talent.

This would be an under-the-radar move worth considering.
