Von Miller helps lead to a third Lombardi

While the AFC Championship Game helped get the Denver Broncos to Super Bowl 50, it was Von Miller’s performance on the biggest stage that will likely stick with Broncos Country for years to come.

It was a meeting of the first overall pick and the second overall pick from the 2011 NFL Draft class. Cam Newton vs. Von Miller. Their battle would determine which team would come out on top. On this day, defense prevailed.

From the first meet in the first quarter, it was proven that it would set the tone. Miller got to Cam Newton and stripped the football away from him. It would lead to a fumble recovery for a touchdown.

Throughout the entire game, Von Miller would disrupt Cam Newton. The final nail in the coffin was the strip sack as the Broncos were holding on to a 16-10 lead in the fourth quarter. The fumble would lead to a Broncos touchdown that would put the game away.

For his performance, Miller would be named Super Bowl 50’s most valuable player. It was the perfect ending to a spectacular season. And we all have Von Miller to thank.
