The Denver Broncos are looking to add a defensive tackle to their roster. The draft might be the place to look as the team will host Dre’Mont Jones.

With the departure of Domata Peko, the Denver Broncos are in need of a starting defensive tackle. Perhaps one name that could intrigue the team during the draft is Ohio State defensive tackle Dre’Mont Jones.

The Denver Broncos will be hosting the Buckeye defensive tackle in the coming days, according to Dan Hope from Eleven Warriors. Jones is set to visit the Carolina Panthers and Cleveland Browns as well.

During his time with Ohio State, Dre’Mont Jones recorded 114 tackles and 9.5 sacks. His performance at the NFL combine was pretty decent. He ran a 5.12 40. His jumps in the vertical and broad were solid as well.

Dre’Mont Jones has played mostly in the 4-3 defense, so it will be difficult to transition to Vic Fangio’s 3-4 defense. But there certainly has to be a reason why the Denver Broncos will be hosting him in the coming days before the draft.

With how solid Fangio is on the defensive side of the football, it would make sense if he believes that he could transition Dre’Mont Jones to the 3-4 defense.

According to Lance Zierlein, he has a chance to become an NFL starter and his game reminds him of Nick Fairley. He has the ability to disrupt a play and shift the momentum towards his team.

The Denver Broncos hosting Jones should be interesting. I see him being a day two draft pick. Since the Broncos only have one second and one third round pick. If the team is able to get a huge need in the first round, I can see the Broncos selecting the Ohio State product.

The visits appear to be starting. Dre’Mont Jones is one of the 30 players selected. Let us see if the Denver Broncos like what they see in the visit.
