Zach Kerr, DL

The Broncos got Zach Kerr in 2017 after he was surprisingly non-tendered as a restricted free agent by the Indianapolis Colts.

He’s been exactly what everyone thought he would be — a valuable reserve at multiple positions on the defensive line.

Obviously, defensive line coach Bill Kollar was able to convince Fangio and Donatell that Kerr could be a fit for their defensive scheme as well, because they brought him back on a two-year deal.

"“Actually, I just got off the phone with Bill before I came over here. He was excited, I was excited. He was definitely a factor in me making this decision. Just knowing the type of guy he is and the type of coach that he is, he can elevate your career… (Knowing the guys on the DL) actually played a (big role). Me, [DE] Derek [Wolfe] and [OLB] Von [Miller], we all actually work out together right now in our offseason. That played a big part in it. I was talking to [NT] Shelby [Harris] last night actually before [I made my decision] I was like, ‘You know what, I’m going to make the decision.’ … We’re building something really good here. I feel like [Head Coach] Vic [Fangio] is the guy to kind of take us over that hump, take us over the hill. I just want to be a part of it.” Zach Kerr"

Kerr also stated he feels the team’s offseason additions showed how aggressive this front office is being in taking steps toward winning again.

"“Once I saw that we were making those types of moves, I was like, ‘You know what, that is definitely something I want to be a part of.’“"

The Broncos’ free agent pickups had a variety of reasons for sticking with the team this offseason, but clearly, the idea of playing in Denver is not what some in the Twitter-verse have made it out to be.

Even Joe Flacco, who has spent his entire NFL and college career playing out on the East Coast, said he and his wife lit up with smiles when Ravens GM Eric DeCosta told him he was being traded to the Broncos.

This is a great organization with a rich tradition, fans, and an excellent new coaching staff. The testimonies of the Broncos’ free agents are indicative of that.
