A good team needs a reliable backup

When the Denver Broncos were without Peyton Manning during the 2015 season, Brock Osweiler was able to pick up the slack and win a few games for the team. Osweiler went 5-2 as a starter for the Broncos, which was enough down the stretch to secure the No. 1 overall seed in the AFC playoffs.

We saw in 2017 how Nick Foles was able to come in when Carson Wentz tore his ACL and lead the Philadelphia Eagles to a Super Bowl win.

It becomes so important for a team to have a dependable backup in case something was to happen to the starter. If Joe Flacco were to go down, Siemian could be a strong replacement. There are not a lot of dependable backups in the league anymore. Might as well find one.
