2. Flacco ‘miserable’ in his last days in Baltimore

Here’s one quote that was noteworthy regarding Flacco’s final days in Baltimore:

"“If I have to reflect back on that time in Baltimore, it was not very fun. It was miserable sitting there on the bench, not being able to contribute and not really feeling like you’re a part of the team. But if that’s what it takes to be in this situation right now and be as excited as I am about it and my family is, then that’s what it takes. I really am excited.” Joe Flacco (quotes via Broncos PR)"

The situations aren’t the exact same, but this is probably what Peyton Manning felt like in 2015 when he was making his way back from injury while the Broncos pursued an AFC West crown.

Manning, unlike Flacco, took Brock Osweiler’s spot halfway through the final game of the regular season that year.

Despite Lamar Jackson’s struggles in Baltimore, Flacco — a former Super Bowl MVP and the winningest QB on the road in playoff history — didn’t take over the job he was Wally Pipped out of.

The Ravens really moved on from Flacco the minute Jackson took his place in the starting lineup when Flacco was hurt.

That didn’t sit well with Flacco, and why would it? This guy is a competitor and a very accomplished player, even if his stats have been poor the past few seasons.
