Cornerback Options

There are a number of cornerback options the Broncos could consider. With Kareem Jackson coming in and likely playing some corner and safety, they could look to free agency (or the draft) to add another player at this position.

Bryce Callahan, Bears

Callahan is a player I’m shocked hasn’t signed before the start of the league year. Maybe he’s got some type of injury issue and needs to travel to visit teams to take physicals, but I’ve always thought he made sense in Denver.

There are obvious connections here as Callahan was signed as an undrafted free agent and developed from his rookie season by Ed Donatell and Vic Fangio.

Darqueze Dennard, Bengals

Nickel option and former first-round pick who likely saw Bradley Roby’s contract and began salivating. I think he could come in higher than the Broncos’ expected price point, but he’s a younger option with big upside.

Jason Verrett, Chargers

Another former first-round pick who is as tough as they come, but has struggled with some freak injuries.

Verrett could be a nice upside move for the Broncos at cornerback and we would delve more into this if he actually signed.

Tramaine Brock, Broncos

Brock spent last season with the Broncos, and as fate would have it, he has history working with Ed Donatell and Vic Fangio.

That might just be the edge he needs to get another year in Denver after playing okay this past season.
