5. Jesse James, TE, Pittsburgh Steelers

The Broncos need a complete tight end, and someone who has proven he can stay healthy.

James has played in all 16 games over the past three seasons and has been a productive option in the passing game for the Steelers as well as a solid in-line blocker.

The Broncos are rumored to be in the market for blocking tight ends but they shouldn’t limit themselves to just guys who can be an extension of the offensive line. The tight end position has also lacked a guy like James, who can be an actual threat in the passing game.

The Broncos have had great blockers like Virgil Green who didn’t help the offense get to the next level because he wasn’t a consistent dual threat.

There’s familiarity here with Mike Munchak coming onto the Broncos’ coaching staff, so James would know the blocking scheme and would have an advocate on the Broncos’ staff.
