I may be trying to will this one into existence, but it makes too much sense not to happen.

This pick could be for either Callahan or Adrian Amos — pick your Bears defender of choice. I think one of them is guaranteed to come to the Broncos and if Denver can get both, that will be icing on the cake.

Callahan is the pick to me because it’s obvious that he fills the more desperate need.

If the Broncos sign Callahan, they can use him as their slot cornerback and move Chris Harris Jr. to the outside on a full-time basis.

Harris has been public about wanting that positional move and has excelled when given opportunities there. That’s no surprise for those who know Harris — he’s good at everything. He’s even played some safety for the Broncos in his career with the team.

Callahan is not going to break the bank like some of the other top corners on the market and is one of the most effective players per snap in free agency. I was hoping the Broncos would try and steal him last year when he was a restricted free agent, and now they don’t have to worry about swinging a trade for him.

They can sign him outright.
