3. Spending huge money on a safety

I realize this is probably an unpopular opinion, but the Broncos have bigger fish to fry than the safety position and spending in excess of $10 million per year on a guy like Adrian Amos is the kind of move you’re thankful other teams make, not your own.

There are so many good safeties on the market that paying $10 million or more per year for a guy is just not the wisest investment.

Maybe the Broncos feel like Adrian Amos can come in and be an instant game-changer for their defensive unit. Vic Fangio and Ed Donatell know him better than anyone.

With that said, this would again take away from the Broncos’ ability to upgrade other positions in free agency and leave more holes than that $10-11 million could possibly fill.

I’m certainly not against the Broncos signing Amos to a free agent contract, but for this price, I think I would be quite underwhelmed, especially if it limits the Broncos throughout the rest of free agency.
