Do the Broncos need a safety?

In my mind, the safety position is the deepest in free agency in 2019.

Guys like Earl Thomas, Landon Collins, Adrian Amos, Tyrann Mathieu, and so many others have oversaturated the market and give the Broncos a chance to sign someone potentially at a bargain price.

One free agent who has been tied to Denver since even before Vic Fangio was officially hired is Adrian Amos, a traditional strong safety who plays in and out of the box as well as just about anyone in the NFL.

Amos excelled in Fangio’s defense, worked with Ed Donatell, and was developed in the defense about to be installed by the Broncos. He could really help the defensive installation from an on-field perspective, but at what cost?

He wants $8-10 million per season and I don’t know if the Broncos can justify that with some of their other needs.

As much as I would love to have Amos, the Broncos should not make a move out of desperation there.
