Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Texas Tech Red Raiders. 45. player. Linebacker. DakotaAllen. 146

The Last Chance U star does have a checkered past. Dakota Allen left Texas Tech because of a burglary charge. Before that, he had an impressive statement on a defense that had a vocal leader.

But it was not meant to be at the time. The charges were dismissed and Allen attended Eastern Mississippi Community College (EMCC) where he led the team in tackles and really turned his life around. In fact, a crazy thing happened.

Texas Tech came back and asked if Dakota would want to be part of their football team again. That’s says it all about how much he changed. Back with the Red Raiders, Allen became the heartbeat of the defense. How Allen performed, the team performed is a testament to a strong character of a guy for him be that leader for a defense.

Allen would be a very nice addition to the Denver Broncos defense. He’s instinctive and is a strong downhill linebacker that runs like bat out of hell.

Once he has the play diagnosed and has the layer targeted it’s over. He certainly is good in coverage but struggles at times. He covers grass nicely though and the development potential is there to be a solid starter down the line.
