Denver Broncos mock draft: Building to the future

Guard/Center. Boston College Golden Eagles. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Jon Baker. 138. 45
Watching Jon Baker, there’s plenty to like. If the Denver Broncos do have to replace Matt Paradis, rebuilding the offensive line is a priority. Sam Jones does not get the credit he deserves as a potential replacement, but that’s another story. The addition of Baker makes a lot of sense from a high football IQ point of view.
Baker is exceptionally smart and Boston College is known for making some of the best offensive linemen in the ACC per Draft Network. If this is true, Baker is yet another to add to offensive line collection. The largest area of concern is injury history, but his 2016 tape is fascinating.
Baker has a strong knowledge of a system he can understand blocking assignments. This is one of the strong traits of Matt Paradis. Baker does a great job consuming blocks and getting to the second level.
In all honesty, Baker may be taken higher because of how strong his mental capacity is to diagnose plays and packages. But injuries are the reason for his fall in this mock and teams are always scared off by that.
