The Denver Broncos are reportedly among the teams expressing the most interest in Antonio Brown. Could it happen?

Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown has been itching for a way out of Pittsburgh for a while now. The Denver Broncos are reportedly a strong candidate to land the disgruntled wide receiver.

In fact, the interest level by the Broncos may be higher than one would expect. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Denver Broncos are “among teams most intrigued” by the idea of acquiring Brown from the Steelers.

The Broncos have already said that they expect some great things from Emmanuel Sanders for the 2019 season. They just drafted two wide receivers in last year’s draft (Courtland Sutton and DaeSean Hamilton).

Antonio Brown’s position coach in college was none other than the current wide receivers coach, Zach Azzanni. So, there’s that connection for Brown and the Broncos. Is that a factor in the decision for either side? Maybe, maybe not.

It’s a tough scenario to predict. Would the Broncos entertain bringing in Brown despite his immature behavior? I mean, maybe a change of scenery is all that Brown needs in order to act professionally.

Then you would have to look at whether Joe Flacco is an upgrade over Ben Roethlisberger. Both are quality quarterbacks, but if there is an upgrade between those two, I’m not sure how big that upgrade is.

Maybe Brown would be able to take over and be a true upgrade at the number one receiver position. I’ve got no doubts about that, as he is regarded as the top receiver in the entire league.

In the end, it all comes down to character concerns. It’s a flip of a coin when it comes to Brown.

Brown also took a shot at current Broncos receiver, and former Steelers teammate, Emmanuel Sanders this offseason.

Oh, and don’t forget about the fact that Brown wants to get paid. He stated that he wants to go to a team that has a lot of guaranteed money waiting for him.

The NFL’s 2019 cap space number is set at $188.2 million, and with some pending transactions on the way, it certainly is possible that the Broncos could make a run at Brown.

I would just be concerned about his character on the field and in the locker room.
