Blocking tight ends the Denver Broncos can pursue in free agency
Austin Seferian-Jenkins, Jacksonville Jaguars
I would have really liked the Broncos to sign Austin Seferian-Jenkins in last year’s free agency period, but he ended up getting solid money from the Jacksonville Jaguars.
After a really good year in 2017 with the New York Jets, Seferian-Jenkins was a bust for the Jaguars, catching 11 passes in just five games.
The 6-foot-5, 265-pound Seferian-Jenkins has long been known for his ability to both block and catch and he did well as a blocker in his limited time with the Jaguars.
He’s just 26 going on 27, and has some good years ahead of him if he can stay healthy.
That’s going to be the key, though.
The only time he’s played more than nine games was in 2017 with the Jets when he played in 13. Durability has been a concern of his dating back to his days in college, so the Broncos will have to calculate the risk here.
