The Denver Broncos are in the market for a blocking tight end in free agency. Here are a few guys who could come in and help in that regard.

The Denver Broncos are apparently in the market for a blocking tight end in free agency.

This year’s free agent crop doesn’t have a ton of household names but perhaps exactly what the Broncos need in terms of a consistent, tough, blocking specialist who can add some value in the passing game while Jake Butt and Troy Fumagalli hopefully step up as the alphas in the passing game.

The Broncos have their own blocking specialist in Jeff Heuerman set to hit the free agent market, and they have expressed interest in re-signing him but are understandably concerned about his medical history.

Heuerman has struggled with injuries every year of his NFL career.

The Broncos have a new tight ends coach in Wade Harman who has worked the past five seasons with the Atlanta Falcons, including a year where his paths crossed with Rich Scangarello, who was an offensive assistant for the Falcons (primarily working with offensive line) in 2015 when Harman became the Falcons’ tight ends coach, working with offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan.

Here are some intriguing options available to the Broncos in unrestricted free agency.
