Money should be spent elsewhere

There’s no hiding that the Denver Broncos have plenty of needs on both sides of the ball and new head coach Vic Fangio said as much during his NFL Combine press conference.

"“I think we’ve got enough needs on both sides of the ball that I don’t think we need to be drafting for need or considering that right now. Overall, I think the Draft will play itself out with the best player available.” Vic Fangio"

Heading into free agency, the Denver Broncos have many needs and quite a bit of cap room to work with. Prior to the trade for Joe Flacco, the Broncos had nearly $40.5 million in cap space. With the release of Brandon Marshall and the potential release of a few other players, there could be more cap space than that available for Denver.

The staff at Predominantly Orange have hypothesized quite a few free agent scenarios, some of which include wide receiver acquisitions and some of which don’t. One thing is certain, however, and that is that wide receiver is not one of the Denver Broncos top five needs.

John Elway doesn’t believe in rebuilding so he will be looking for players to improve both sides of the ball, and by not targeting wide receivers, he will show a vote of confidence in the current core while also spending the money in more worthwhile spots such as corner and defensive tackle.
